Hybrid Design:

Like its predecessor, the Switch 2 maintains its versatile nature, functioning as a portable handheld console, a tabletop device, or a home console when docked to a TV.

Enhanced Performance:

It boasts a custom Nvidia T239 processor with an Ampere-based GPU, offering a substantial leap in processing speed and graphics performance compared to the original Switch. This translates to smoother frame rates, sharper visuals, and faster loading times.

Display:

The console features a larger 7.9-inch LCD touchscreen with a 1920×1080 (1080p) resolution. It supports HDR10 and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) up to 120Hz in handheld/tabletop mode. When docked, it can output up to 4K resolution at 60fps via HDMI, with support for 120fps at lower resolutions (1080p/1440p).

Storage:

The internal storage has been significantly upgraded to 256GB UFS 3.1, an eight-fold increase from the original Switch. It also supports faster microSD Express cards for expandable storage up to 2TB.

Joy-Con 2 Controllers:

These redesigned controllers attach magnetically to the console, replacing the rail system of the original. A notable new feature is the ability for each Joy-Con 2 to be used as a mouse in compatible games, offering new control options. They also feature improved HD Rumble.

GameChat:

A new integrated voice and video chat system allows players to communicate, share screens, and even use an optional Switch 2 Camera accessory for video chat. A dedicated  C Button” on the right Joy-Con 2 activates GameChat.

Backward Compatibility:

The Switch 2 is backward compatible with original Nintendo Switch game cards, and some older games may even see performance improvements on the new hardware.

Improved Dock:

The new dock has rounded edges and an internal fan for better cooling during docked gameplay. It also includes a wired LAN port.

Battery Life:

The battery life is estimated to be approximately 2 to 6.5 hours, depending on the game.

Connectivity:

It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and has two USB-C ports (one on the top and one on the bottom) for charging and accessories. The dock also includes USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI 2.1 port.
